Condition surface :

  • The surface should be structurally clean, with no cracks, oil-free, and no grease or any other contaminant. The un-adhesive surface should be removed and properly treated before applying BestSeal AC401.
  • The width of cracking is over 0.5mm, it requires to be perforated at least 10mm in width, and a minimum depth greater than 1.5 times to the width of the trench.
  • The cut groove is U-shaped. With the water leaking surface, it requires to be perforated at least greater than 2.5 times to diameter of the hole and grouted by BestSeal CE201 at the water leaking place before application with BestSeal AC401.

Application:

  • Construction sweeping: Mixing ratio: BestSeal AC401: Clean Water= 3:1 ( by weight).BestSeal AC401 is mixed with clean water in the correct ratio by a mixer with a speed of 300 - 400 rpm. Should add BestSeal AC401 to pre-quantified water, mix while pouring BestSeal AC401 slowly, and continue mixing until the mixture is homogeneous, with no more lumps. Leave the material for about 3 minutes and mix again before use. The minimum mixing time is 05 minutes but can be mixed longer until the required homogeneity is achieved.
  • Use a hard brush or high-pressure jetting to coat the ready mixed admixture on the surface one by one layer (maximum
    thickness:1mm). The minimum waiting time after sweeping another further layer is 120 minutes.
  • The pot-life of BestSeal AC401 is 60 minutes from the mixing time.

Attention: 

  • Moisten surface but do NOT let puddles appear before applying. Moisten the previous layer to the next one.
  • In sunny and windy weather, it should be strictly obeyed the curing and humid condition of the surface when materials
    start hardening.
  • Application time is 60 minutes since mixing time. Apply at least 2 layers of BestSeal AC401 to surface waterproofing. Do not use expired and hardening material.
  • Dry-shake for fresh concrete and the next fresh concrete:
  • - Directly dry- shake BestSeal AC401 powder on a fresh concrete surface (after 120-180 minutes), use a machine to smooth the waterproof surface; or dry-shake on the exposed surface of the primed concrete before applying the next layer of fresh concrete.
  • Dry-shake evenly twice, with perpendicular passes to each other to achieve a uniform coating.

Cleaning:

  • Clean tools and equipment immediately after applying, before the mixture’s hardening. In the case of hardening, use the right mechanical methods to clean tools.

Safety: 

  • BestSeal AC401 is a harmless product, non-flammable. However, labor safety is ensured, by using alkaline chemicals under the general prescribed conditions.
